We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Head Cashier to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for supervising the cashiers, ensuring efficient and accurate cash handling, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Your strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and passion for organic products will contribute to the success of our store.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in business or retail management is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a cashier or in a supervisory role within a retail environment.
  • Familiarity with organic products and a genuine interest in healthy and sustainable living.
  • Excellent math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proficient in using electronic cash registers, POS systems, and other relevant technology.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the cashier team, ensuring smooth operation of the checkout process.
  • Provide guidance and support to cashiers, offering training and assistance as needed.
  • Perform cashier duties when necessary, including processing customer purchases, handling cash, and using POS systems accurately.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by promptly and courteously assisting customers with inquiries, refunds, exchanges, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor checkout area for cleanliness and organization, ensuring the availability of supplies such as bags, receipt paper, and cash drawer trays.
  • Manage cash register reconciliation at the end of each shift and prepare necessary reports.
  • Collaborate with store management to implement and enforce loss prevention measures and security procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling cashiers, ensuring adequate coverage during peak business hours and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge, promotions, and pricing to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Participate in inventory management tasks, such as stock replenishment and price labeling.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among the cashier team.
