We’re looking for a Head Chef to bring their creativity and skill to Winstons - a bustling neighbourhood wine bar and bistro known for beautiful, seasonal food that’s big on flavour. You’ll lead a small, passionate team, serving dishes with bistro flair that pair perfectly with great wine and a warm, local vibe.

Winstons is a buzzing neighbourhood wine bar and bistro in the heart of Black Rock, just a short stroll from the beach. Come summer, our corner is packed — locals and visitors spilling out onto the footpath.
We’re looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen through this busy, exciting season and beyond. You’ll take ownership of the menu, creating beautiful, produce-driven dishes with bistro flair — food that’s simple, seasonal, and delicious.

Your role will include:

  • Leading and mentoring a small, passionate kitchen team
  • Designing and executing seasonal menus that pair perfectly with our wine list
  • Managing ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
  • Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards
  • Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure smooth, efficient service
  • Managing food costs and meeting budget targets

This is a hands-on role for a creative chef with strong leadership skills and a love for delivering outstanding dining experiences. In return, we will collab together and you’ll have the freedom to put your stamp on the menu, work with quality produce, and be part of a venue that’s loved by its community and buzzing with energy.
