BASScare is a not-for-profit organisation providing a wide range of services, including meals-on-wheels, residential care facilities, respite care, dementia-specific services, retirement living, and planned activity groups at day centres. Our programs aim to help older adults stay active and engaged within their local communities. We are currently seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our team.
Role Expectations:
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining a high standard of food safety. You will report directly to our Hospitality Service Manager, but you will also have the autonomy to run and manage your kitchen.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally and efficiently run a small, busy kitchen.
  • Develop and manage menus, collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet business goals.
  • Manage, teach, and mentor kitchen staff, encouraging skill development.
  • Actively participate in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
  • Take ownership of the department’s operating budgets, controlling food and labour costs to maintain appropriate spending levels.
  • A trade-qualified Head Chef with at least 5 years of experience in a head chef role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
