Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Head Chef, you’ll take the reins in running our busy kitchen, ensuring that all groups—large and small—enjoy delicious, nutritious meals throughout their stay. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll manage a dynamic kitchen team and ensure smooth, efficient operations, including menu planning, food safety, team coordination, and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth service for all groups on site
  • Create seasonal menus that are healthy, appetizing, and meet diverse dietary needs
  • Foster strong relationships with camp coordinators to ensure all catering needs are met during each group’s stay
  • Build and maintain an effective, motivated catering team, ensuring strong communication and collaboration
  • Train and supervise staff in all aspects of food preparation, food safety, kitchen cleanliness, and customer interaction
  • Implement an efficient food ordering system, ensuring timely deliveries while controlling costs
  • Coordinate cleaning of the kitchen and dining hall to ensure readiness before and after each group’s stay
  • Ensure accurate records are kept, including food safety checks and special dietary requirements
  • Ensure all catering equipment is maintained and in good working order
  • Adhere to food safety standards and implement risk assessments as needed

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED;

  • Relevant qualifications in catering, cooking, or a related field
  • Experience in the food service industry, with a strong background in managing kitchen teams
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience building cohesive teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Strong focus on customer service, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals
    This is a casual role ranging from $45-55 per hour + Super + Y Benefits, based on experience. This role also has the potential of being a full-time role.
