HEAD CHEF – FOREST CAFÉ, MIDMAR

Salary: £33,000 per year + tips
Location: Midmar (Daily transport provided from Café Ahoy)
We’re on the hunt for a skilled and enthusiastic Head Chef to take the reins at Forest Café – Midmar. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and top-notch brunch and lunch offerings, this is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing kitchen within a respected hospitality group.
About the Role
As Head Chef, you’ll take full control of kitchen operations—ensuring dishes are consistent, high-quality, and efficiently produced. You’ll play a key role in team leadership and development, while driving excellence across all aspects of kitchen service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food preparation and service, focusing on quality and presentation
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in every dish that leaves the pass
  • Support and motivate your team to work efficiently during busy service periods
  • Train, mentor, and build a strong, capable kitchen team
  • Maintain all kitchen records including CookSafe compliance, temperature checks, and cleaning logs
  • Manage kitchen costs and work within agreed GP targets
  • Take full responsibility for kitchen hygiene, food safety, and team management
