Description

Fountains Hotel is looking for a Head Chef to manage the culinary operations of a kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining exceptional standards of hygiene and efficiency.
This role encompasses planning menus, overseeing food procurement and inventory management, and ensuring cost-effective operations. The Head Chef will supervise kitchen staff, providing training and mentorship to maintain teamwork and productivity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts (NQF Level 6) at a recognized and reputable culinary institution.
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role, preferably in a 4/5 star hotel.
  • Must have a reputable, relevant and unbroken record of service.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts (NQF Level 7) at a recognised and reputable institution.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Sous Chef within a hotel, providing upmarket dining experiences.
  • Good understanding of food and Health and safety practises.
  • Good understanding of relevant computer programmes (MS Office, POS, Inventory Management)
  • Good understanding of traditional, healthy and morden menu items.
  • Up to date with culinary trends.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Head Chef within a +100 bedroom hotel, providing upmarket A la Carte and buffet dining experiences.
  • Certificate in Pastry
