Head Chef
Salary: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 OTE per year
Overview:
The Kirkwall Hotel is a beautiful harbour front hotel friendly team that are looking to recruit a Head Chef for its busy kitchen. We’ve made some beautiful new changes to our beloved Kirkwall Hotel. With expansion plans in the future, there is opportunity to grow.
We are looking for a skilled and creative Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, menu planning, and ensuring high-quality food production while maintaining a positive work environment.

EXPERIENCE

· Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment
· Strong background in culinary arts, including menu planning and food preparation
· Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor staff
· Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices
· Proficiency in supervising kitchen operations, from ordering ingredients to final plate presentation
· Understanding of food safety protocols and regulations

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality

  • Other key characteristics:
  • Experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef for a minimum of 1 year
  • Ability to work with the kitchen team.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment working with fresh food essential.
  • Ambition to progress your career and to strive for the best standards possible
