POSITION SUMMARY:
Join the MetroWest YMCA and make a difference in the communities we serve! The Head Chef/Kitchen Manager prepares and packages 1000 meals per day for kids 18 and under with accuracy, efficiency, and in a timely manner. This position produces food for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Changemaker Café, and catering operations. We serve healthy options and are hoping to have access to healthy food during program hours and support healthy eating practices across the MetroWest YMCA. This position supervises a full time cook and multiple kitchen staff. Competitive pay and benefits! Pay starting from $22.00 per hour! Equal Opportunity Employer.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Experience with commercial food handling, preparation and supply ordering.
2. Experience with CACFP, SFSP, NSLP
3. Completion or in process of attaining ServSafe and Allergen Awareness certification.
4. The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, children and families, volunteers, school administrators, members, community leaders and other agencies.
5. Driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and access to a personal vehicle (preferred, not required) for transporting food to sites.
6. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
7. Must be 21 years old or older.
8. Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
9. Ability to work some weekends and evenings.
10. Other duties as assigned.
