Lunchtime at Michaela is the beating heart of the school. We all share a “family-style” vegetarian lunch and dessert. Pupils serve each other, rather than canteen style. You would be making one dish a day for the lower school and a dish for the 6th Form Café.
We have 620 pupils from years 7 to 11, 150 in our 6th Form and 80 staff.
The role of the Head Chef is to ensure fantastic food and exceptional service is delivered to pupils and staff each day, as we serve vegetarian family lunch to nearly 800 people. This role is not only about preparing exciting, fresh, and nutritious food that pupils and staff look forward to, but also about leading and managing the catering team to consistently achieve high standards.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring quality, efficiency, and excellent teamwork. Our priority is providing great tasting, healthy meals that bring enjoyment to the school community, while maintaining a well-organised and professional catering service.
