The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, is confident in managing service, and can balance creativity with consistency and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu execution and daily service
  • Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to deliver consistent quality
  • Manage prep, portioning, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and OH&S standards
  • Create and maintain efficient systems to minimise wastage and maximise profitability
  • Assist with menu development, particularly Mediterranean-inspired breakfast and lunch dishes
  • Work closely with the owners to maintain high standards and streamline service

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Head Chef or Senior Chef role (café experience preferred)
  • Strong breakfast and lunch service skills – eggs, grills, sandwiches, salads, Mediterranean-style plates
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume service while maintaining quality
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a professional work ethic
  • Must be available for early 6am starts and weekend shifts
  • Passion for food, people, and building a positive team culture
