HEAD CHEF – WYMONDHAM WINDMILL, LEICESTERSHIRE

Full-time | Permanent | Competitive Salary
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Wymondham Windmill – a thriving rural destination with a busy tearoom, seasonal menus, and a growing events and weddings business.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take charge of a creative kitchen, shape menus with local produce, and lead a small but ambitious team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency across all service
  • Create and develop menus, from daytime dining to private events and weddings
  • Manage food costs, stock, ordering and supplier relationships
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, health & safety, and allergen compliance
  • Train, motivate and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive team culture
  • Work closely with management to develop new offerings and grow the business

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready for the next step
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal, locally sourced food
  • Knowledge of cost control and kitchen management systems
  • Ability to thrive in a busy environment, balancing day service with events catering
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence
