Description Job Title: Head AM Opening Lifeguard and Swim Instructor FLSA Status: non-exempt, part-time (15-29 hours/week) Wage: $11-13/hr or doe Hours: 4-5 night weekly/ Close 4:00-10:00 PM weekdays/ Close 8:00PM Saturday/ Close 6:00PM Sunday Reports to: Director of Aquatics Probation: Subject to a 12-month introductory (probationary) period POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead AM Opening Lifeguard & Swim Instructor is responsible for maintaining order in the pool area at all times. Primary responsibilities are (1) to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard and (2) must be reliable, available and committed for early morning shifts. Assures safety of all pool participants, both members and non-members and assumes all job duties of a swim instructor. Must be able to thrive in an environment with the unique challenges of a non-profit community service organization. Works with limited supervision. Provides exceptional customer service. Requirements Minimum age is 18 years old Required – Certification in CPR, First Aid and Lifeguarding, can be obtained at the Y Preferred – Lifeguarding experience, and swim instruction experience Preferred – Experience with children or willingness to be trained

Responsibilities

The lead lifeguard is responsible for maintaining order in the pool area and ensuring the safety of all participants. They must also perform swim instruction duties and work with limited supervision in a community service environment.
