HEAD COACH - ALIZÉ

Acrobatic Coaching
Full-Time Position
We are looking for our next Head Coach to lead our show’s Coaching team. As the Head Coach, reporting Operationally and Functionally to the Human Performance Manager, you will ensure the safety of our Artists and manage the risk associated with human performance (e.g. skill acquisition and decision-making, acrobatic content, use of equipment, movement techniques, longing, spotting…). You will oversee the team of Coaches in the performance of their duties, while overseeing the cast of the show regarding Acro-Artistic performance. You will ensure the quality of daily training, plan performance improvement, and maintain the quality of acrobatic performances in all acts and tableaux. Our coaches demonstrate the following traits; Humility, Curiosity and an Insatiable Appetite for Learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Degree in physical activity sciences or a combination of studies and experience offering both a theoretical and practical structure for the study of physical activity, sports, movement and circus arts;
  • At least six years of experience in group management (Athletes and/or Coaches) and training planning (long-term development); knowledge and/or experience in circus arts/disciplines an asset;
  • Previous experience working in a live entertainment or other similar environment;
  • Ability to influence and challenge others in a productive manner;
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational and planning skills;
  • Communication and management skills in a context of diversity;
  • Capacity to establish and maintain close relationships;
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity;
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs unassisted, etc.; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of other languages, especially German, is an asset;
  • Verification of the right to work in Germany for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
