About the Role:  The Head Women’s Basketball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the administration and management of the Women’s Basketball program. Westminster University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA II) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  Minimum Qualifications:  * Bachelor's degree.  * Demonstrate a record of success in coaching basketball and recruiting student athletes at the collegiate level preferred.  * Ability to work independently.  * Effective motivational skills.  * Strong leadership and organizational skills.  * Excellent interpersonal and public relation communication skills.  * Ability to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.  * Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with high standards and goals.  * Commitment to high academic and professional standards.   Preferred Qualifications:  * Master’s degree.  * Periodic overnight travel may be required.  * Regular travel throughout the year and/or at specified times of the year will be required.  * Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required.  * Ability to respond to on-call as assigned, including evenings and weekends is required.  * Valid driver’s license and successful DMV check required.  * Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch required.  * Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is required.  * Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds required.  Operational Requirements:  * Schedule outside normal business hours.   * This position requires an irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends and travel.   Responsibilities:  * Recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes.  * Supervise and hire assistant(s).  * Budgeting, scheduling, and travel arrangements.  * Organize and supervise practices.  * Event management assistance.  * Order and maintain all equipment.  * Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations.  * Assist with fundraising and outreach efforts for program.  * Student-athlete mentoring and welfare.  * Work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the University learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes.  * Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University’s mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion  * Perform other duties as assigned  Intercollegiate Athletics Compliance Requirements:  * Maintain knowledge of and comply with NCAA rules and regulations  * Follow all institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations  * NCAA violations may result in disciplinary action  * Must attend required meetings and trainings associated with compliance duties  * Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University's mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion  What we offer: * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance  * Paid Time Off (PTO) * Paid Parental Leave * Paid Family and Medical Leave * 403(b) Retirement Plan with a 5.5% employer contribution * Tuition Remission (after a qualifying period of employment) * 18 Paid Holidays Annually * Cell Phone Plan Discounts  Equal Employment Opportunity:  Westminster University is committed to a diversified workforce, equal opportunity, and nondiscrimination.
