POSITION OVERVIEW:

Sparta High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Competitive Cheer Head Coach to lead our cheer team in cultivating athletic excellence, teamwork, and school spirit. The ideal candidate will inspire and develop student-athletes while promoting a positive and competitive atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Previous coaching experience in competitive cheerleading, Sideline Cheer or gymnastics is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required (Need to have before Day 1 of coaching). Additional certifications in safety and coaching techniques (e.g., USA Cheer Level 1 or 2) are a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct regular practices, ensuring a focus on skill development, safety, and teamwork.
  • Develop Game and Tournament Schedules
  • Develop game and competition strategies, including choreography for routines.
  • Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress and expectations.
  • Organize and attend competitions, including travel arrangements, and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages growth, resilience, and sportsmanship.
  • Collaborate with the athletic department to promote cheerleading events and initiatives.
