REQUIREMENTS:

• FA Introduction to Coaching Football / FA Level 1 (minimum).
• UEFA C or above desirable.
• Experience coaching children or young people.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willing to obtain).
• Safeguarding Children & Emergency First Aid (or willing to obtain).
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Head Football Coach will lead the delivery of high-quality football coaching sessions across Soccer HQ’s programmes, ensuring a positive, challenging, and enjoyable experience for all players. This role combines hands-on coaching with leadership responsibilities, including supporting, mentoring, and monitoring other coaches to maintain the organisation’s high standards.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver engaging and progressive coaching sessions for players aged 5–14 across 1-to-1, small group, and team environments.
• Create and implement session plans in line with Soccer HQ’s coaching philosophy.
• Oversee and mentor assistant coaches, providing feedback and guidance to improve delivery standards.
• Monitor and assess player development, providing individual feedback to players and parents.
• Lead coaching at holiday camps, masterclasses, and community events.
• Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare policies.
• Represent Soccer HQ in a professional manner at all times.
