Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in groundskeeping and landscape maintenance, with hands-on experience in using both hand and power tools. This role involves cultivating and maintaining gardens, ensuring that outdoor spaces are healthy, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing across all of our venues. The Head Gardener will play a crucial role in creating beautiful landscapes that enhance the environment whilst leading a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is required - both soft and hard landscaping is a must.
  • Familiarity with various hand tools and power tools used in gardening tasks.
  • Knowledge of plant care, including growing conditions, irrigation needs, and pest management.
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks such as lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular maintenance of gardens, including planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks.
  • Irrigate plants and manage watering schedules to ensure optimal growth conditions.
  • Monitor plant health and identify any diseases or pest issues, taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new garden layouts or landscaping projects - including monoblocking, paving, stone chipping
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of gardening equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve overall landscape goals and maintain high standards of garden aesthetics.
  • Assist the maintenance team as and when required - moving equipment, completing, monthly checks
  • Maintain weeds, using the appropriate chemicals and PPE
