WHAT WE NEED, IN A NUTSHELL

Our guests at Piperdam love nothing more than a great round of golf, and we need an experienced Head Greenkeeper to keep our course in top condition. From creating a safe and stunning environment to offering a warm and friendly welcome, you’ll play a key role in delivering the best golfing experience.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES YOU’LL NEED

If you can match the skills, experience and qualities listed below, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Proven greenkeeping experience, ideally in a Head or Deputy Greenkeeper role
  • In-depth knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, machinery, and turf management
  • PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and environmental practices
  • Great planning and time management skills, able to prioritise seasonal tasks effectively
  • A hands-on attitude and willingness to lead by example
  • Leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising or mentoring others
  • Flexibility and adaptability, especially around weather conditions and event demands
  • Pride in presentation and attention to detail across the course and surrounding areas
  • Great communication skills and a friendly, guest-first approach

You will need a full driving licence too and it would be the icing on the cake if you are good at general maintenance repairs.

You’ll be our Head Greenkeeper, ensuring our 9 & 18 hole course and surrounding area is safe, well maintained and in first-class condition. This includes:

  • Course Maintenance: Leading all aspects of turf management, including mowing, fertilisation, irrigation, aeration, weed control, disease prevention, growth regulation, bunker and greens maintenance, drainage management, and tree/hedge care.
  • Presentation & Upkeep: Maintaining all practice areas, including the driving range and putting green, ensuring all areas are consistently presented to a high standard.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Continuously seeking ways to improve the course and enhance the overall golfing experience—offering practical solutions and long-term development ideas.
  • Health & Safety: Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and environmental policies, conducting regular course inspections, and managing risk assessments.
  • Team Leadership: Managing and developing your team, including day-to-day supervision, training, workload planning, and performance development.
  • Communication & Coordination: Liaising effectively with the wider park team (e.g. F&B, Guest Services) to ensure smooth coordination during events, maintenance schedules, and any disruptions that may affect guests
