Hours: 32 Hours per week
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Location: Himley Manor Care Home, 133 Himley Road, Dudley, DY1 2QF

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

  • Infection Control standards and procedures
  • COSHH policies and procedures
  • Care home environment or similar setting
  • Previous team leading / head housekeeper experience

Responsibilities

The purpose of Head Housekeeper is to maintain the cleanliness of the home at all times to a strict cleaning schedule, and is responsible for the housekeeping staff and ensuring that their duties are completed to a high standard. Job duties include
- Monitoring stock levels of cleaning materials and PPE and completing orders to ensure sufficient stock is available within the home
- Complete regular supervisions / appraisals of housekeepers as directed by the managers
- Ensure the home remains clean, tidy and free from infection by adhering to a cleaning rota
- Provide new staff with a comprehensive induction and adequate shadow time to allow them to become competent members of the team
- Ensure laundry duties are completed to a high standard
- Handle cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations
- Report concerns to management / maintenance team where issues are identified
- Attend training and participate in meetings as required
- Complete audits and manage paperwork involved in the role
- Complete monthly rotas in advance to ensure all shifts are covered
- Act as a link between the care home and IPC team and updating team members of current best practice, guidance and legislation
- Complete observations and competencies with staff members to ensure the team are adhering to policies and procedures
There is a 2 week rolling set rota and you must be available to work weekends. Currently one weekend on and one weekend off.
Must be available to cover for holidays and sickness.
Must be physically fit.
The role will including cleaning as part of the 28 hour with allocated supernumerary days to allow for auditing, paperwork, inspections and supervisions of domestic team
