ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in housekeeping or cleaning (care, healthcare, hotel, or similar environment).
  • Brings supervisory or team leadership experience, while also being a reliable and approachable team player.
  • Understands infection control, health & safety, and COSHH (training provided if needed).
  • Has a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Is organised, calm, and professional, with a strong eye for detail.
  • Organised and confident in taking initiative, managing cleaning schedules, and ensuring that high standards are consistently met.
  • Can communicate clearly and build rapport with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Is physically fit to carry out the role (including lifting, bending, and operating cleaning equipment).

Watermoor House Residential Care Home offers dedicated residential and respite care for up to 39 older people. Set in a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian manor with extensive gardens in the heart of Cirencester, our vision is to be an excellent place to live and work, providing a compassionate and person-centred service to meet the unique needs of individuals in our care.
As a registered charity, all our income is reinvested into the home, our residents, and our staff. Our in-house housekeeping team are a vital part of our care provision, ensuring that the home is kept clean and tidy, and operating a laundry service for our residents.
Our experienced Home Manager joined Watermoor House in September 2024, and this is an exciting time to join us as we build on our strengths and strive for even greater standards of care and support.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to join our warm and friendly team at our residential care home. In this important role, you will take the lead in ensuring our home is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and hygiene.
Your duties will include overseeing and supporting the housekeeping team, managing cleaning schedules, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring all areas of the home remain safe, welcoming, and well-presented. You will also be responsible for training, supervising, and motivating your team to deliver excellent standards at all times. This role is key to creating a safe and reassuring environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. Your work will directly contribute to the health, comfort, and wellbeing of everyone in our care.
Working hours will be 08:00am and 15:00pm and will include one day on alternate weekends. The role will be 35hrs per week.
