As Head Librarian of Wageningen University & Research (WUR), you will be responsible for shaping the mission, vision, and strategy of the library, providing direction to both the organization and its team. Within WUR, the Library offers unique expertise and support for scholarly publishing, large-scale collection development, sustainable curation, aggregation, and (re)use of scholarly information by students, researchers, and the public.
As the content lead for scientific information services, you will develop and maintain a future-proof and easily accessible knowledge infrastructure. As a manager, you will directly and indirectly lead colleagues, fostering connection, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Your duties and responsibilities as Head Librarian include:

  • Managing and strengthening internal relationships while contributing to research, education, and societal impact.
  • Initiating and guiding innovations in scholarly publishing, information services, WUR Library Platform, and open science, collaborating closely within the information services domain.
  • Ensuring the development and management of the Library’s (digital) collections, in cooperation with other universities.
  • Representing WUR Library externally through active participation in UKB, Liber, and various other networks.
