At ArcelorMittal (AM), we are looking a Head Occupational Health Assurance (3rd Line of Defense) to join us at the forefront of the steels industry. As part of the Global Assurance team, you shall be part of a team of experts based in Luxembourg City.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

To audit and provide independent assurance to the Executive Office and Board of Directors that each region has implemented ArcelorMittal Occupational Health Standards. The audits will ensure activities and controls performed by the 1 st (site) and 2 nd line of defense (segment & Health & Safety Corporate) are in place, designed effectively and operating effectively. The 3 rd Line of Defense provides independent assurance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree (Masters) in Engineering
  • Certification as ISO 45001 Auditor

EXPERIENCE

+15 years of experience in Health & Safety Functions / roles of which at least 5 in an audit role in Steel, Oil & Gas, Mining or Chemical Industry

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proven expertise in Occupational Safety discipline
  • Understanding of ISO 45001
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Fluency in English (oral and written);
  • Conversational fluency in further languages, e.g. French, Spanish, German, Portuguese is an asset.
  • Familiarity with culturally diverse and global operations is essential
  • Ability to work both in teams and individually.
  • High flexibility, including willingness to travel regularly (70%)
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.“Hands-on” approach;

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Develop and build Occupation Health & Safety Audit team
  • Develop and maintain a Methodology to be applied by Global Assurance for the purpose of 3 rd Line of defense H&S Audits in line with requirements of applicable technical standards (e.g. ISO 45001) and audit Standards (GIAS).
  • Developing and executing a risk-based audit plan covering:
  • Develop and maintain a regular reporting to key stakeholders at Segment, Regional and Group level as per Global Assurance protocols. Maintain a follow-up tracking system for follow up items identified in regional audit reports.
  • Lead the Global Assurance H&S (Occupational Health) team
  • Ensure that all audits are performed all in line the defined Global Assurance H&S Audit methodology and applicable technical standards.
  • Develop training programs for Global Assurance on safety management systems
  • Collaborate with Global Assurance Regional Heads in communication of H&S issues to Management at all levels
