Head of Accounting – German HGB

A fast-growing international company is looking for a Head of Accounting to lead and manage Accounting processes and the team, and work on a roadmap of projects and improvements!
The Head of Accounting will manage an Accounting team of 5+ people and will be responsible for ensuring delivery of daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting tasks in accordance with HGB. Working closely with Senior Finance Stakeholders as well as Reporting and Controlling colleagues, the role will also identify and drive improvement projects, such as process improvements for Accounting, Record-to-Report, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as well as delivering digital transformation projects and finace automation.
The right candidate will be an experienced Lead Financial Accountant or Accounting Manager with HGB knowledge and will be comfortable delivering day-to-day accounting operations working in German with local Tax advisors and managing Accounting teams.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

Senior Accounting Manager / Head of Accounting with 5+ years’ experience
Prior Management experience for Accounting teams
Fluent German and English
Excellent knowledge of German GAAP HGB
Location: Berlin, Germany

Lead Financial Accounting according to HGB / German Gaap
Team Management for Accounting and Finance Operation Team
General Ledger Accounting, Record-to-Report
Managing daily accounting as well as month end / Year end close activities
Supporting financial audit and working with Auditors in German and English
Liaising with German Steuerberater (Tax Accountants) and Audit teams in local language
Identify and manage a roadmap of project improvements
Collaborate closely with stakeholders in Finance Controlling and Reporting to identify and deliver accounting requirements
