QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • FCAS or FCIA is required.
  • Deep knowledge of the Canadian P&C market.
  • 10+ years of experience in an actuarial role.
  • Understanding of catastrophe peril modeling and pricing preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency of Excel and SQL.
  • Proven track record of collaboration across functions delivering quality results in an efficient manner.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for problem solving.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to learn from and share knowledge with teammates.
  • Effective time management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of Actuarial services to the Canadian Team.
  • Ability to drive the understanding of portfolio management and profitability throughout organization. Recommend and implement actions as necessary.
  • Research new pricing techniques and enhance existing methods.
  • Analyze results based on past and current trends, projections, and rate competitiveness.
  • Work directly with local production underwriters and company management to ensure marketability and profitability of the business.
  • Work with Global Actuarial Team to develop quantitative tools to be used by underwriters in pricing individual risks.
