Job Description Role Title Head of Semiconductor Business/Advanced Manufacturing – India Reporting Line Reports to: Business Line Head – Building & Places, India Role Purpose The Head of Semiconductor/Advanced Manufacturing Business – India is accountable for establishing, scaling, and leading AECOM’s Semiconductor and Advanced Manufacturing business in India. The role will act as the market-facing leader and sector authority, responsible for client leadership, business development, execution oversight, and long-term capability building across semiconductor fabrication (FAB), cleanroom, and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly & Test) facilities. This role combines deep-sector expertise with strong commercial acumen and enterprise leadership to build a sustainable, high-growth practice. Key Accountabilities 1. Business Leadership & Practice Scale-Up Own and drive the growth strategy for AECOM India’s Semiconductor & Advanced Manufacturing business, aligned with regional and global priorities. Establish the semiconductor/advanced manufacturing practice as a strategic growth engine within Building & Places, with a clear market positioning across FAB, OSAT, and advanced manufacturing facilities. Develop a robust opportunity pipeline and translate pursuits into profitable, consulting-led engagements. Balance growth ambition with commercial discipline, risk management, and long-term sustainability. 2. Market Leadership & Client Acquisition Act as the externally accountable leader for key semiconductor and advanced manufacturing clients in India. Build and sustain senior-level (CXO and Board-level) relationships with: Global and regional semiconductor manufacturers OSAT operators Government bodies and ecosystem partners Developers, investors, and EPC partners Lead major pursuits, proposals, and negotiations, shaping win strategies and commercial decisions. Represent AECOM in industry forums, government interactions, and market platforms related to semiconductors and advanced manufacturing. 3. Client Management & Strategic Advisory Serve as trusted advisor to clients on the planning, design, and delivery of high-performance semiconductor facilities. Guide clients on best practices related to cleanroom environments, tool installation readiness, phasing strategies, and operational resilience. Support advisory, owner’s engineer, PMC/PMCM, and technical due diligence engagements. 4. Delivery Oversight & Execution Governance Provide strategic oversight for major semiconductor programs and projects to ensure: Quality and technical excellence Schedule and cost certainty Margin protection and risk control Partner closely with Operations team, who retain responsibility for day-to-day delivery and resource management. Act as escalation point for complex technical, commercial, or stakeholder issues. Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, cleanroom standards (SEMI / ISO), and client operational expectations. 5. Technical & Sector Leadership Act as Sector SME for Semiconductor and Advanced Manufacturing within AECOM India. Lead technical strategy across cleanrooms, FABs, and OSAT facilities, including: HVAC and environmental control systems Process utilities and gases Facility and tool integration Commissioning and handover readiness Drive innovation, standardization, and lessons learned across projects. 6. Team & Capability Development Build and lead a focused Semiconductor leadership nucleus, including sector SMEs and client/account leaders. Develop scalable delivery and advisory capabilities in: Semiconductor facility design management Program and construction management (PMCM) Digital and integrated engineering Mentor senior leaders and project teams, creating succession depth and technical excellence. Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive culture aligned with AECOM values. 7. Governance, Risk & Enterprise Contribution Ensure strong governance, contract management, and risk discipline across all semiconductor engagements. Contribute to Building & Places leadership forums and cross-sector collaboration. Align with regional and global semiconductor initiatives, sharing market intelligence and best practices. This role is positioned as the single-point leadership role for Semiconductor & Advanced Manufacturing in India, with shared delivery ownership through the Building & Places operational structure experience to assure competence as a fully trained worker. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent. 20+ years of experience in semiconductor and/or advanced manufacturing facility design and project delivery. Direct experience delivering at least one semiconductor project at site (FAB or OSAT). Proven leadership in Program, Project, and Construction Management (PMCM) for cleanroom, FAB, and OSAT facilities. Strong understanding of SEMI and ISO cleanroom standards, HVAC systems, process utilities, tool install coordination, and facility integration. Demonstrated success in client-facing leadership, business development, and stakeholder management. Experience with OSAT facility planning and delivery is highly desirable. Ability to operate effectively across site-based and office-based environments. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business needs dictate.
