Description

Our team

We are the AI Solutions Team at E.ON – an interdisciplinary team of ML engineers, GenAI solution engineers, and AI specialists who develop and operate productive AI solutions that generate measurable business impact. Our expertise ranges from classic ML solutions – such as time-series models for forecasting and anomaly detection – to modern GenAI and agentic AI architectures that automate business processes and enable our colleagues to work smarter.

We are part of a broader AI & Data ecosystem at E.ON, work agilely within the SAFe framework, and see ourselves as drivers of the company's digital transformation. Collaboration on equal footing, technical excellence, and real impact are our benchmarks.

Your playing field

Leadership & Chapter Lead

You will assume disciplinary leadership of a team of approximately 20 internal employees and manage over 20 external employees (primarily from a subsidiary), shaping collaboration across organizational and company boundaries. As Chapter Lead within the SAFe framework, you will be responsible for the professional development of your chapter members, establishing common engineering standards and ensuring transparency and alignment across PI Planning and ART levels. Your focus will be on people, their development, and their effectiveness.

Coaching & Cultural Development

You actively coach and develop the engineers – providing regular, substantial feedback, recognizing achievements, creating clear development perspectives, and fostering a culture of psychological safety and technical excellence.

Visibility & Representation

You create strategic visibility for your team – as an ambassador internally and externally, as a matchmaker between topics, people and platforms, and as a catalyst who actively brings team members into the right formats and forums.

AI Solutions Portfolio & Delivery

You will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational implementation of our AI Solutions portfolio – from prioritization and roadmap development to the productive delivery of ML, GenAI and Agentic AI solutions with real business impact – and ensure that quality, data protection, governance and responsible AI are built in from the start.

Departmental Integration & Effectiveness

Close collaboration with specialist departments, product managers and architects is one of your key responsibilities; in this role you identify AI potential and ensure that solutions do not end at the proof-of-concept stage, but are scalable and operationally responsible in use.

AI Strategy & Corporate Coordination

You represent the interests of your chapter to senior management, actively drive the further development of our AI strategy across team and company boundaries, and coordinate the AI chapter of your company with the central AI and corporate units.

Are you our Playmaker?

Leadership experience

You have several years of experience in a disciplinary or functional leadership role in the AI/ML environment – e.g. as Team Lead, Chapter Lead or Product Owner – and know how to build, lead and develop technically excellent teams.

Technical AI/ML understanding

You possess a sound technical understanding of AI/ML solutions – from classic ML methods (e.g., Time-Series, Supervised Learning) to RAG pipelines and GenAI architectures, all the way to Agentic AI systems – and can discuss them on equal terms with engineers.

End-to-End Delivery

Your experience in end-to-end responsibility for AI solutions sets you apart – from conception and development to productive operation – and you know what it takes to ensure that AI doesn't stop at the prototype stage.

Communication & Mindset

You think strategically, act pragmatically, and never lose sight of people or business impact. You communicate clearly in German (at least C1 level) and English (at least B2 level) – with engineers, business stakeholders, and senior management alike.

SAFe & Agile Scaling

Ideally, you already have practical experience with the SAFe framework – as a Chapter Lead, Product Owner, or in a comparable agile leadership role – and understand how agile scaling works and is practiced in a business context.

Our energy package for you

  • An innovative environment for shaping a sustainable energy world of tomorrow
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid work model to promote work-life balance
  • Opportunities for workation in other European countries, sabbatical or additional vacation days
  • An agile working environment with interdisciplinary collaboration, flat hierarchies and an informal, first-name basis culture.
  • Diverse learning and further training opportunities, support programs and development opportunities within the group
  • Attractive additional financial benefits, e.g. company pension schemes and employee savings plans
  • Numerous benefits, e.g., employee stock ownership plan, E.ON leasing bike/car, EGYM Wellpass, holiday apartments, employee discounts at well-known brands and providers.

Inclusion

It is important to us to provide people with disabilities a fair application process in which they can showcase their best abilities. Therefore, our representative for severely disabled employees is involved in the process from an early stage. Please let us know via the application form if you require any technical or organizational adjustments for the application process. We will gladly provide these.

  • If you are unable to apply online and would prefer to speak to someone, please contact your local recruiter.
