Job Description
START HERE. GROW HERE.
Our Water team is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Asset Management to lead and grow our established Asset Management services across the UK and Ireland.
As clients increasingly adopt asset management frameworks and analytical approaches (including optimisation, resilience, and systems thinking) to guide the design, operation, and maintenance of water infrastructure, AECOM is committed to being at the forefront of this evolution. By engaging early in our clients’ delivery chain, we provide value-driven, whole-life services through our multidisciplinary teams.
This is a pivotal leadership role within our UK & Ireland Water business, responsible for driving growth in service capability, client relationships, team development, and commercial performance. You’ll be a key strategic figure, shaping the future of asset management for the water sector and contributing to our global community of asset management practitioners.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Develop and lead Asset Management strategy across key service areas, leveraging expertise in condition assessment, rehabilitation, system dynamics, optimisation, data analytics, urban drainage, and water quality.
Build and maintain trusted client relationships, serving as a senior point of contact for asset management services.
Grow a robust pipeline of asset management work, enabling the development of team capability and capacity in line with business demand.
Drive strong commercial outcomes, with a focus on delivering higher-than-average margins and increasing year-on-year revenue.
Personally deliver strategic advisory services and provide oversight to project teams as Project Director.
Champion innovation and digital solutions, including forming partnerships with software providers and niche consultancies.
Foster a connected and collaborative asset management team across multiple locations and disciplines, supporting both client delivery and professional development.
Leverage synergies with AECOM’s wider services, enabling integration of engineering, environmental, and commercial expertise into client programmes.
Position AECOM as a thought leader, enhancing our brand visibility and reputation within the asset management and advisory space.
READY TO PUSH THE LIMITS OF WHAT’S POSSIBLE?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
You are an established professional in the regulation, strategic, or tactical asset management space, with a strong profile in the UK and / or Ireland water utility sector. You bring a collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering innovative, sustainable solutions that meet client and societal needs.
We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities. If you are an applicant with a disability that requires reasonable accommodation to complete the application process, please contact us at ReasonableAccomodations@aecom.com. At AECOM, we value everyone’s unique contributions and perspectives.
If you meet some of the requirements above or have transferable skills you believe would benefit us, we would be delighted to hear from you!
