Job Description Position Summary The position of Head of Automotive & Industry at Sika Japan, Automotive and Industry is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the business of Automotive & Industry team in Japan with full P&L responsibility and for leading the commercial and technical team. Main function/responsibility/competencies Profit & Loss responsibilities: Take full P&L responsibility with Sales, Ebitda, Working capital, safety as main KPIs, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and profitability. Monitor and track revenues, profitability and business development initiatives to meet or exceed sales targets. Provide regular reporting on market performance, opportunities, challenges, and key achievements to senior management. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Japan Automotive and industry team, now 50-60 people, including commercial, Global Key account, business development, technical service, customer service teams. Organize the team effectively to optimize business develop and team collaboration. Encourage cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Technical service, marketing, sales, and other departments to leverage Sika’s full potential in delivering innovative solutions to the market. Develop and retain Talents, identify and recruit talents, motivate team, implemented company culture, regulations and process within the team. Customer Focus: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors in the automotive and industrial sectors. Lead the team to engage deeply with customers making sure their needs are understood and aligned with Sika’s product and service offerings. Drive the development and launch of new products or solutions tailored to the evolving demands. Validate the business proposals and negotiations with customers to close new business deals. Business Expansion: Identify, evaluate, and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships and Merging & acquisitions. Foster relationships with key industry players, potential customers, suppliers, and partners to expand Sika’s footprint in the automotive, industrial, and specialized markets. Innovation and Sustainability: Stay abreast of the latest technological innovations, sustainability trends, and regulatory changes within the automotive, industrial, and related sectors. Lead initiatives aimed at incorporating sustainability and eco-friendly solutions into product development and business practices, especially in the growing markets. Qualifications Strong Leadership skills and team management experience are requested: At least 10 years of team management experience in sales or engineering sales in the manufacturing Business to Business sector. Fluency in English, native speaker of Japanese language is mandatory. Automotive or Manufacturing Industry professional: An experience at a supplier of Automotive or manufacturing components, consumables or chemical products is preferred. A working experience at Automotive & Tier companies is a plus. A strong business Development track records in Automotive and Industry sector would be appreciated. Application and technical knowledge of adhesives, resins and accoustic parts would be a plus. 4-year College degree at minimum in a technical or business field. A Master or doctor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is plus.
