Working as part of the Pacific’s Growth Operations & Bid Team, this role combines strategic thinking, leadership, project management and communication to deliver Aon’s Value Proposition to clients and prospects across Australia. Reporting to the Growth Operations Leader Pacific and dotted line to the Chief Commercial Officer Pacific, you will lead the Pursuit Team in Australia. Your focus will be on the growth plan, supporting existing and new clients, aligning sales strategies across solution lines to drive growth. You will also promote global standards and educate colleagues and clients on Bid Management standard methodology. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work a combination of both virtually and from our Aon Australia offices. What the day will look like Responsible for planning, scheduling, resourcing and delivering tenders, capability statements, prospecting and client outreach material. Work closely with Sales, Business Development and Client Service colleagues to run business development activities for tenders and jeopardy accounts to achieve sales, retention and budget goals. Be visible within the business to support success stories and conduct carefully constructed debrief sessions on winning / losing tenders - i.e. socialising outcomes and working to leverage success / address blind spots. Partner with stakeholders to assess and prioritize efforts and IQ development and seek ways to expand the team’s involvement in the sales cycle to improve success rate and educate colleagues outside the team on process and guideline. Produce innovative content that specifically supports increased velocity through the sales pipeline. Oversee and actively engage in the production of best in market graphic design and innovation. Engage with the marketing team on campaigns / events to support the sales team push high value leads / opportunities through the pipeline. Project manage, write, challenge and proofread proposals in response to RFPs, specifically for the firm’s largest opportunities. Develop an understanding of a client’s / prospect’s business, including facilitating and participating in internal pre-tender strategy meetings and workshops. Coach and rehearse teams for RFP client pitches, and support and guide Pursuit colleagues to be effective pitch coaches. Skills and experience that will lead to success 8 years plus of solid bid management experience. University degree and/ or a professional qualification (preferably Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field) from a renowned university. Solid project management skills and organizational skills, including ability to adapt to changing time pressures/flexibility. Experience in the development of custom strategic content (leveraging strategic messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required. Ability to lead multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines. People leadership experience, leading multiple people and contributing to the engagement and development of staff.
