As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through chocolate, we’re looking for a Head of Business Development, Wholesale and Corporate to join our Wholesale team on a permanent basis.
As a brand with over 140 stores, a thriving digital business, and growing international presence, we continue to evolve and expand. Our Wholesale & B2B function is a key growth area, offering new opportunities to bring the Hotel Chocolat experience to more customers and businesses.
We’re on the hunt for a commercially savvy Head of Business Development, Wholesale & Corporate to spearhead the growth of our wholesale and B2B channels. Here at Hotel Chocolat, we’ve adopted a hybrid working pattern where appropriate. For this role it means working 2 days a week on site, with the other days spent visiting partners and working remotely from home or wherever you like! The on-site location for this role is our Head Office ‘Mint House’ in Royston, Hertfordshire, our home since 1994; just off the A505, ten minutes’ walk from Royston Train station and commutable from London Kings Cross.

Responsibilities

Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for wholesale and B2B, aligned with Hotel Chocolat’s wider business goals.
  • Identify, assess, and secure new business opportunities across wholesale, corporate gifting, and strategic B2B channels.
  • Lead negotiations and establish long-term commercial agreements with key partners.

Account & Commercial Management

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing wholesale and B2B partners, ensuring strong commercial performance and brand alignment.
  • Optimise product offerings, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive revenue and margin growth.
  • Lead joint business planning with key accounts, ensuring mutual success and long-term sustainability.

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Own the P&L for Wholesale & B2B, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met.
  • Work cross-functionally with trading, supply chain, finance, and marketing to ensure operational efficiency and seamless customer experience.
  • Analyse performance data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure that wholesale & B2B strategies align with our brand positioning and customer experience.
  • Champion Hotel Chocolat’s values and ethical commitments within wholesale & B2B operations.
