The Head of Business Management, Outsourcing and Service Management is responsible for directing and controlling sepcific organisational operations in accordance with the strategy and business plans to ensure that organisational goals and objectives are met.

Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Leading the Guernsey teams responsible for Chief Administrative Office, Chief Control Office, and Client Lifecycle Management activity, including cost management, strategic alignment, and Governance (CAO) and Management of Risk and Controls, policy change and coordinating assurance and remediation (CCO).
- Oversee the ‘Change the Bank’ agenda related to Business and/or Regulatory changes, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure the required support is provided and monitoring project performance and ensure escalation / remedial action is taken where necessary.
- Direct responsibility for areas under high regulatory scrutiny: Outsourcing, Business Risk Assessment and the application of the Operational Risk Management Framework.
- The role holder will perform the duties required under GFSC regulation as an appointed Bank Superviser alongside the Booking Centre Head. These duties are defined under the Banking Supervision (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2020.
- Keep the Head of Booking Centre apprised of significant events, incidents and risks.
- Contribute to strategic planning (Finance and Resource Planning and Value Stream Investment Process) and execution of the strategies and initiatives that arise.
- Ensure investigation of issues which may be adversely affecting business unit performance.
- Ensure all activities adhere to prevailing HSBC and external regulatory standards.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive experience working in financial services is essential.
- Detailed knowledge of risk management in areas including financial crime, sanctions, conduct, resilience and regulatory risks and credit risks.
- Knowledge of emerging risks in macro environment (e.g. arising from digital technologies) and operations as identified by internal policies.
- Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills at all levels, with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively, and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations.
- Experience in building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
- Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results.
