Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE ARE:

· Overseeing and responsibility for ensuring statutory and college standards of hygiene, food safety and health and safety are adhered to.
· To plan menus and deliver food and beverages to the highest standards.
· Responsibility for budgets relating to the provision of a world class refectory catering service.
· Meeting financial targets; including value for money and adhering to college financial procedures and associated admin requirements.
· Responsibility for stock management and procurement of all items for the Catering Department.
· Liaise with suppliers and ensure best value supply chain is in place.
· Line management including recruitment, induction, onboarding, employee relations issues and professional development of the Catering Supervisors and provide support in the management of the catering function and catering team.
· To ensure, and promote, good relations between the Refectory Catering Department and the whole college community including working with the student body, governing body, senior leadership and other Departmental Heads, contributing towards the college’s values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence
Ideally, you’ll hold a relevant Food and Hygiene Qualification and are able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of management of catering in a commercial setting. You should be able to show experience of leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team on multiple sites, in a busy environment.
