The Role: The Head of Change, Projects & Innovation Capability is a senior leadership role responsible for leading business-led initiatives that enhance Carey’s organisational capability and optimise processes to enable educational and operational excellence. Reporting within the Deputy Principal – Quality and Innovation (DP-QI) portfolio, the role ensures transformation and improvement initiatives align with the School’s strategic aspirations, are governed effectively, executed with excellence, and supported by robust change management and stakeholder engagement. This position provides strategic direction and practical leadership for a diverse portfolio of projects, enabling sustainable organisational growth, continuous evolution, and innovation.  This is a full-time permanent position based at the Kew campus. Success Measures:  * Demonstrated experience leading complex stakeholder environments * High level of political and organisational awareness, with the ability to influence outcomes through consultation, credibility and trusted relationships  * Strong alignment between initiatives and School strategy * Consistent, high‑quality project delivery outcomes * High levels of staff adoption and capability uplift * Effective governance with clear business ownership * Improved organisational maturity in change and project management Key Skills and Experience: * Proven senior leadership experience in business-led change, transformation, or portfolio delivery within a school or education environment, or a similarly complex and regulated setting * Minimum 5 years in change management and stakeholder engagement, including more than 3 years in a leadership capacity * Excellent people leadership skills, including team development, conflict resolution, and performance oversight  * Strong capability in project, program, and portfolio management methodologies * Strong business analysis, information management, and process improvement skills * Experience establishing governance frameworks and operating models * Tertiary qualification in Business, Change Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience * Project management certification * Strong business mindset with the ability to translate strategy into action * Influential communicator able to engage School Executives, staff, and partners * Structured, disciplined, and outcomes-focused * Comfortable leading ambiguity and complex change * Collaborative leader who values partnership between business and technology methodology * Change management certification is highly desirable A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
