Job Title Head of Clinical Affairs Personal Health Job Description Job Responsibilities Provide clinical and medical thought leadership to inform strategic decisions, product roadmaps, solution innovation, and market expansion. Build and strengthen critical business capabilities across Medical Affairs, Medical Safety, and Clinical Affairs. Lead the development of innovative medical and clinical strategies that advance product development and commercialization priorities. Lead one or more Clinical Affairs disciplines, including clinical development, medical writing, clinical research, and clinical programming, based on expertise and business need. Shape and execute complex clinical research programs in partnership with clinical, academic, and industry stakeholders, overseeing high-impact initiatives. Own strategic planning activities, including organizational design, workforce planning, budget stewardship, and methodological innovation. Provide strategic oversight of clinical evidence generation, interpretation, and dissemination, while engaging effectively with regulatory bodies and key external stakeholders. Advance Philips thought leadership by contributing to intellectual property, white papers, publications, and external scientific visibility. Lead the Annual Operating Plan, ensuring effective fiscal management, resource allocation, and prioritization of strategic investments. Define strategy and value propositions within the function, using evidence and market insight to guide innovation and business priorities. Build influential internal and external networks and represent Philips as a credible ambassador for Clinical and Medical Affairs. Lead talent strategy across the function, including succession planning, performance management, capability building, and career development. Set clear priorities, goals, and performance expectations, and create the conditions for operational excellence through regular feedback and recognition. Foster an open, engaging, and high-performing team environment that supports development, retention, and inclusive collaboration. Enable multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust clinical evidence programs aligned to strategic priorities and best-in-class standards. Oversee audit readiness and response management, ensuring timely resolution, effectiveness checks, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead cross-functional collaboration across Regulatory, R&D, Quality, HEMAR, Biostatistics and Data Management, Clinical Development, and other internal partners to deliver project objectives. Drive organizational transformation and guide the development of talent with strong scientific and strategic capabilities to meet current and future evidence needs. Education Master's Degree in Life Science or equivalent. Domain expertise in one or more of the following areas is strongly valued: dermo-cosmetics, dermatology, dentistry/dental hygiene, nursing, public health, or nutrition. Preferred Qualifications Candidates typically bring a Master’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience in Clinical Development, Medical Writing, Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, and people leadership within Clinical Affairs or a related environment. Work Experience The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive experience across Medical Safety, Clinical Development, Medical Writing, Clinical Research, and Clinical Operations, with a proven track record in designing, executing, and leading clinical research within the MedTech industry and has solid experience with both regulated and non-regulated products. Deep knowledge of human research methodology, global regulations, and market requirements across the EU, U.S., and China is essential, along with 6–8 years of people leadership experience managing high-performing teams and complex portfolios. #LI-EU At Philips, we believe that every human matters.
