The Engineering team is essential in ensuring seamless system interoperability and enhancing operational efficiency across the organisation. The Engineering team collaborates to provide the successful candidate with a great knowledge base of the company and the broader financial services industry.
The Head of Cloud Engineering will step into a moving stream, taking over leadership of a migration project that is already underway to shift legacy AWS accounts into a new compliant landing zone. They will collaborate with a managed services team to guide the final stages of the migration and ensure the future state cloud environment is secure, efficient, and aligned with organisational goals. The role will also focus on cultivating a proactive team culture, empowering the teams to take ownership of their domains, and ensuring strategic alignment across the organisation.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the DevOps and Infrastructure Operations teams, ensuring alignment with Eightcap’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement a cloud strategy to drive growth and innovation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and shared ownership.
  • Oversee AWS cloud management, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Finalise the migration project and optimise cloud infrastructure for long-term needs.
  • Work with managed services to establish a sustainable cloud model.
  • Identify and implement automation and operational efficiencies.
  • Bridge cloud operations, development teams, and stakeholders for seamless integration.
  • Drive DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption.
  • Develop change management and incident response processes for reliability.
  • Maintain and optimise environments for performance and scalability.
  • Mentor and support team growth, ensuring access to tools and training.
