Overseeing and coordinating multiple specialized services or functions by planning, organizing, managing and evaluating the operations of the department while ensuring that services meet the needs of staff and the public;
Managing the lifecycle of physical and digital collections, including inventory management, selection, cataloguing, processing, deaccessioning, and shelving. Conducting and implementing process improvements to achieve efficiencies and optimum uses of resources;
Performing advanced administrative database functions such as maintenance related to collection and borrower records, authority control, and establishing and editing loan rules and load tables;
Ensuring an effective and efficient work team by providing management direction to employees and planning, assigning, and supervising work. Ensuring excellent customer service is delivered by the Circulation, Collections, and Tech Services teams. Ensuring optimum staff productivity through selection, training, development and motivation;
Completing statistical and operational analysis and producing reports and documentation related to collection usage and borrowers;
Overseeing departmental work plans, capital and operating budget requests, quarterly and annual financial reports, and evaluation reports;
Participating in employee and labour relations matters; and
Participating in other duties and special projects as assigned
