Purpose of the role
The Head of Community Engagement and Experience is responsible for the leadership, management and
execution of the admissions, marketing (including student recruitment and retention), communications,
community engagement and experience function for ELTHAM College. The role supports the College to
meet its educational, development, business and commercial objectives through ensuring a professional,
responsive and authentic experience for all stakeholders.
The Head of Head of Community Engagement and Experience collaborates widely with key stakeholders to
develop, articulate and implement the strategic marketing plan, admissions and enrolment strategies to
support growth and student retention for the College. The role works with internal stakeholders, third
party agencies and channel partners to develop the various marketing, communication, engagement and
customer experience, systems, processes, projects, initiatives and policies to achieve the College’s strategic
objectives.
The role is responsible for building the College’s brand management and reputation ensuring it is highly
regarded across the entire community.
The role may be required to work after normal business hours or on weekends or public holidays on
occasion in order to support College activities.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to develop customer journeys across the full customer life cycle
    to build strong and enduring engagement across both pre-education, education and post-

education journeys.

  • Drive and grow the contribution of the Marketing, Communications and Engagement and

Admissions team to the College’s one team philosophy, building deeper and more connected
relationships between the team and wider College community and its reputation as a critical

enabler to the College’s success.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain and embed effective mechanisms to seek community

feedback, communicate future plans and project outcomes and drive deep community

engagement and deliver an excellent customer experience.

  • Build strong, strategic and enduring relationships with the College Community’s many stakeholders

including but not limited to current families, Alumni, ECCA (ELTHAM College Community
Association), our sporting partners and other commercial users of our facilities, government,

council and others

  • Create and foster strategic partnerships with appropriate creative, media, digital and PR agencies

ensuring they are fit for purpose.

  • Chair and oversee the functioning and activities of the College’s community groups (ECCA, Alumni,

and associated Friends of Groups) ensuring their activities are aligned to their respective

committee terms of reference (TORs) and the College’s strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate with these stakeholders, to develop, communicate, implement and review all TORs and

associated documentation, policies and procedures relating to their functioning in support of the
broader College strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or Business
    • Current Victorian drivers’ licence

• Entitled to live and work in Australia

  • Clearance to work with children - Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Completion of Protecting Children – Mandatory Reporting and Other obligations (training

provided by DoE Victoria) as required – accessed via ELTHAM College

  • National Police Check (within the last 6 months)
