Location: Newport, South Wales
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Bonuses
Hours: Monday to Friday | 37.5 hours/week

We are now seeking a strategic, hands-on Head of Compliance to lead and evolve our compliance operations and oversee a team of compliance managers. This is a pivotal role in ensuring our recruitment operations remain fully aligned with all relevant regulatory, framework, and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for safeguarding Care Supply Pool’s compliance integrity—ensuring full adherence to regulations from:

  • NHS Frameworks (HTE, CCS, LPP)
  • Private Organisation Compliance Standards
  • NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council)
  • Social Care Wales
  • CQC & CIW regulators

You’ll lead a team of compliance managers, implement quality assurance strategies, oversee audits, and ensure that our processes not only meet but exceed required standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Head of Compliance, you will:

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of compliance managers across healthcare recruitment divisions.
  • Oversee all compliance activities and ensure adherence to NHS Frameworks, NMC, Social Care Wales, and broader regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement company-wide compliance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular internal audits of recruitment and onboarding processes, address findings with corrective actions.
  • Monitor changes to legislation and healthcare framework standards; update internal protocols accordingly.
  • Liaise with external bodies during audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Deliver ongoing training and workshops to recruitment and operational staff to maintain compliance awareness and capability.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all pre-employment checks, credentialing, and documentation for candidates.
  • Produce and present compliance reports for senior leadership.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks within the compliance process and overall recruitment workflow.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in a senior compliance or governance role within a healthcare recruitment setting.
  • Strong knowledge of NHS frameworks, NMC regulations, Social Care Wales standards, and right-to-work/labour law requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills — ideally with experience managing a compliance team.
  • Sharp attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and confidence in high-pressure environments.
  • Outstanding communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong project and process management capabilities.
  • A genuine passion for ethical recruitment and continuous improvement
