Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

A leading inhouse conveyancing firm is seeking a Head of Conveyancing to oversee and manage the entire conveyancing process. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth and efficient property transactions, working closely with internal teams and external conveyancing solicitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, experience managing a high volume of transactions, and a strategic mindset to optimize processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

✅ Planning & Structuring:

  • Audit current conveyancing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for improving conveyancing performance.
  • Source, tender, and onboard law firms and third-party suppliers.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of Paralegals.

✅ Conveyancing Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end conveyancing process for property purchases and sales.
  • Ensure transactions progress efficiently, meeting client and commercial requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate external solicitors while managing internal legal staff.

✅ Risk & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with the Valuation team to assess legal considerations in property valuations.
  • Advise on legal risks related to property acquisitions.
  • Manage compliance procedures, including AML regulations.

✅ Legal Advisory & Group Support:

  • Provide legal support for broader business needs.
  • Ensure business security from a legal standpoint.
  • Handle ad hoc legal tasks as required.
