BMS Re US is seeking a highly accomplished Managing Director & Head of Corporate Strategy to lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and partner with divisional leadership to drive sustainable, profitable growth across our US reinsurance platform. This senior leader will act as a thought partner to the Chief Growth Officer and Executive Committee, developing and operationalizing strategies that position BMS Re as a category leader in analytics-driven, client-centric solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional strategic acumen, operational rigor, and deep industry fluency.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end corporate strategy function for BMS Re US—including annual strategic planning, firm-wide initiatives, and key growth mandates across reinsurance, broking, and capital advisory.
  • Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and divisional leadership to translate high-level objectives into actionable business plans, investment roadmaps, and measurable results.
  • Shape the firm’s point-of-view on core industry trends, emerging opportunities, and adjacent growth spaces (including digital distribution, ILS, MGA platforms, and capital-motivated reinsurance).

Enterprise & Business Unit Support

  • Serve as the internal consulting lead to support product innovation, new revenue line evaluation, and market-entry assessments across all business units.
  • Build and lead a team of Senior Managers responsible for developing business cases, conducting market and competitor intelligence, and supporting product launches.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, M&A, and Talent to drive cross-functional integration and strategic messaging consistency.

Organizational Transformation & Change Management

  • Drive mission-critical transformation programs, helping operationalize BMS Re’s growth objectives across people, process, and platform.
  • Develop and lead implementation plans that enable change adoption while managing complexity and risk.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and challenger to divisional executives, enabling fact-based, data-driven decision making.

Strategic Communications & Research

  • Produce clear, compelling executive-level communications, board updates, and market research deliverables that shape strategic dialogue and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain a fact base of competitive dynamics, client needs, regulatory developments, and economic implications within the broader (re)insurance ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Oliver Wyman), corporate strategy, or strategic planning within insurance, financial services, or reinsurance.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact strategic recommendations and change execution within deadline-driven environments.
  • Deep understanding of insurance/reinsurance market structures, carrier and MGA dynamics, and capital markets optionality.
  • Exceptional project management skills with ability to lead large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives across time zones and business units.
  • Highly skilled in data synthesis, competitive analysis, and the development of structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with C-suite polish and credibility.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities; able to build and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience navigating fast-paced, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional strategy engagements with measurable outcomes.
  • Fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, and strategic modeling tools; Think-Cell and/or Tableau a plus.

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary advanced to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
