POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Head of Curriculum and Assessment provides strategic leadership in curriculum design, assessment, and educational technology integration, embedding innovative pedagogical approaches to inspire exceptional teaching and inclusive learning for all students, including those with SEND, Gifted and Talented, and Emirati learners. The role ensures student learning remains central to strategic planning, resource management, and professional development, driving quality assurance to raise standards and accelerate outcomes. Additionally, they support school policy implementation, self-evaluation, and recruitment processes while actively promoting the school and engaging with external agencies to align with the school’s vision for excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership in curriculum, assessment, and educational technology integration.
  • Develop and embed innovative pedagogical approaches to inspire all students and raise standards, including for SEND, Gifted and Talented, and Emirati students.
  • Monitor and ensure quality assurance of assessment practices and curriculum design to accelerate student performance.
  • Develop and deliver an effective professional development program tailored to staff needs and targeted areas for whole school development.
  • Ensure student learning is at the centre of strategic planning and resource management.
  • Play a key role in School Self-Evaluation, ensuring agreed actions positively impact student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Leaders to establish robust targets and Annual Action Plans.
  • Support whole school policy decisions and contribute to their implementation and review.
  • Actively promote the school and liaise with outside agencies as necessary.
  • Design and deliver tailored professional development programs to build staff capacity in using technology effectively in teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Utilise a coaching and mentoring approach to improve staff confidence and competence in educational technology.
  • Lead and support staff in developing and sustaining positive working relationships within and across phases.
  • Actively pursue your own professional development as an aspiring Executive Leader.
