We are digital first, omni-channel, customer obsessed, female led and inclusive, focused on creating meaningful relationships with our community, who we owe our success to. We are looking for someone special to join our team to help us make luxury something we can all enjoy everyday.

WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP

We have all the makings of an iconic brand - beautiful products that are timeless and designed to last, service that exceeds our customers expectations, a passionate founder that cares deeply about doing what is right and a loyal and growing community who advocate for us.
A strong focus on data underpins our approach across the business, from developing a deep understanding of our customers needs and behaviour to optimise their experience, through to analysing our internal processes and supply chains to seek out efficiencies and an ever more sustainable footing.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity for you to help take our data and analytics capabilities to the next level over the course of a 12 month fixed-term maternity cover. If you thrive at the intersection of understanding how data creates real business value and how to deliver this end to end then this is the role you’ve been searching for. We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneur’s spark who wants to collaborate with business partners in an agile manner to create ah-ha moments, which fuels the thirst for more insights and data driven solutions.
You’ll have your finger on the pulse of how the data world is evolving, from tried and tested to new and emerging technologies and service providers, through to understanding the skills sets and role types we should have in house versus those that sit better with suppliers. In addition to blending a deep analytical and commercial ability with strong communication and project management skills, you’ll appreciate the importance of having good technical abilities yourself, while seeing the need to build a team of subject matter experts.
As part of the MV team, you’ll report into the Director, Data & Technology and line manage the Data Team. You’ll work amongst an amazing team who will support you along the way in order to drive strong decision making, develop resilience together and overwhelmingly scale growth at Monica Vinader whilst having fun along the way.

Responsibilities

Data strategy and culture

  • Straddle the space between the wider business and the subject matter experts within the data team, ensuring we are structuring the team and driving their focus in a manner which maximises business value.
  • Work very closely with all teams across the business – in particular Growth, Digital, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, NPD, and Marketing – to identify where data can add the most value by function
  • Maintain and enhance the data and analytics strategy, adding value quickly and incrementally based on business needs, while also developing a longer-term vision to enable the organisation’s future capabilities and growth aspirations
  • Lead our internal AI Working Group, driving a “test and learn” approach to emerging AI technologies and methods, exploring how they can generate new insights, build capabilities, and deliver measurable growth and value
  • Propose data and AI-driven solutions in a manner that can be understood by non-technical audiences, securing engagement and buy-in
  • Educate the wider business on the potential of data and AI, owning cultural KPIs for levels of data and AI awareness, capability, and confidence.

End to end delivery

  • Take ownership of end to end delivery of data solutions, whether rolling up your sleeves to execute or through the data team
  • Define and maintain a data roadmap, ensuring strong buy in and alignment from leadership, while maintaining a level of agility to respond to opportunities
  • Based on our strategy and needs, identify technologies and service providers, leading on selection, negotiation, onboarding and ongoing relationship management
  • Ensure strong change management and project management when onboarding new suppliers
  • Partner with stakeholders and vendors post-onboarding to ensure intended value is realised from all new investments, whether built internally or procured externally.

Team management and ways of working

  • Line manage and mentor the team, and ensure integration with the wider tech and data family within MV
  • Continue developing and maintaining the data team’s process documentation, including roadmap generation/prioritisation, systems integration workflows, QA processes, and testing frameworks
  • Establish clear RACI’s for each of our systems, so we have clarity on stakeholders, subject matter experts and responsibility for improvement and maintenance
  • Foster collaborative ways of working that will allow your team to better work with others around the business and suppliers to achieve results.

Good governance, support and security

  • Maintain a strong focus on good governance and documentation for our data systems, ensuring our approach is compliant and continues to be best in class
  • Track and manage the data and analytics budget, ensuring all costs are monitored, reported, and kept in line with agreed plans and priorities
  • Play a central role in ensuring the security of our customers’ data while also ensuring our compliance with international data compliance regulation (such as GDPR, PECR,CCPA)
  • Partner with the wider technology teams to deliver our operational support model, ensuring systems within our data platform meet both analytical and operational needs
