On a typical week, you can expect to: Serve as Vector’s senior technical authority for all data platform and engineering decisions. Design, govern, and evolve the full data ecosystem, spanning modern cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake) and legacy on-prem environments. Drive the development of cloud-first data platforms that process high-frequency energy and IoT data at scale. Enable real-time insights, advanced analytics, automation, and AI that power smarter, more resilient energy solutions for customers and communities as well as optimise network performance, support decarbonisation, and deliver innovative services. Lead Platform Engineering and Data & AI Engineering teams, balancing operational reliability, engineering excellence, and future-focused innovation. Guide migration and modernisation efforts, embedding automation, CI/CD, and best practices. Collaborate with Data Delivery, Governance, BI & Analytics, Architecture, and Cyber Security to ensure a robust, compliant, and future-ready data ecosystem. Champion a culture where data is at the heart of every decision from edge-to-cloud automation to AI-powered grid management. Who are we looking for? You’re an experienced technical leader with a passion and excitement for building robust, future-ready data platforms that accelerate the energy transition. You will bring with you: 12+ years’ proven experience across large-scale data engineering and platform functions, cloud architecture, and infrastructure. A wealth of technical expertise in AWS, Snowflake, and modern data engineering tools (Coalesce, Fivetran, Python, SQL, etc.). Proven experience leading migration from on-premise SQL to cloud platforms, including defining migration strategies and execution. Strong background in DevOps, DataOps, CI/CD, and automation within data engineering environments. Strategic mindset balancing technical innovation, cost management, and operational reliability. Excellent collaboration and influence skills across technical and business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams. Passion for automation, engineering craft, innovation, and continuous improvement.
