Head of Database Administration

We are seeking a highly competent Head of Database Administration.
The chosen candidate will be instrumental in ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security of our database systems. As the head of our database administration team, you will lead all aspects of database strategy, including data migrations, backups, recovery operations, and the overall management and optimization of our database systems.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of experience in managing complex database operations, with specific proficiency in MongoDB, Oracle, and SQL Server management
• 2+ years of relevant leadership experience in a database administration role
• Demonstrated capability to deploy and manage high-availability database systems across varied environments
• Expertise in database management including maintenance, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and disaster recovery
• Comprehensive understanding of data security, backup, recovery, and integrity protocols
• Proven track record in planning and executing complex data migrations and managing database recovery operations
• Advanced leadership and communication abilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Lead the provisioning, maintenance, and optimization of database systems to ensure robust performance across different environments
• Develop and enforce robust database security protocols to safeguard data against unauthorized access
• Oversee the monitoring and adjustment of database configurations to optimize performance and response times
• Coordinate and lead data migration projects, ensuring alignment with organizational timelines and specifications
• Manage regular database backups to ensure data integrity and support effective recovery strategies
• Provide leadership in troubleshooting and resolving database issues, maintaining system continuity during failures
• Liaise with development teams to optimize queries, enhance data indexing, and improve overall database performance
• Respond quickly to system outages to minimize downtime and lead the support team in these efforts
• Analyze database operations and initiate projects to enhance database efficiency and effectiveness
• Maintain and update comprehensive documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and changes
