THE OPPORTUNITY:

Murphy Geospatial is seeking an experienced Head of Department to develop and lead our Ground Investigation services across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a geospatial professional to play a strategic role in shaping ground investigation operations, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality survey projects. You will oversee all stages of GI/SI projects, from planning to completion, while developing a dedicated team of geotechnical engineers.
The successful applicant will be reporting to the Managing Director, in a hybrid role based out of Watford, Birmingham or Manchester.

Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role within Geotechnical Engineering or Ground Investigations.
  • Detailed understanding of a range of ground investigation service offerings including but not limited to; window sampling, cable percussive, rotary, CPT, and trial pitting.
  • Proven ground investigation project management experience, including client engagement.
  • Full clean UK manual driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Membership to appropriate institution (Desirable)
