Responsibilities

YOUR NEW ROLE

As our new Head of Department - EIA (m/f/d) you will be part of the leadership team of Environment & Health (E&H) in Germany and also part of a global network of EIA practitioners within our E&H division responsible for growing the existing team in Germany. You will be supporting colleagues in all business areas in Germany to grow our EIA pipeline and grow out talented team of 30 people. Our existing EIA team in Germany covers local infrastructure, rail and onshore wind projects and also international assignments related to project finance. It is an exciting time to join us as we are now rolling out sector approaches for Rail and Energy, which pulls together all our disciplines, to align and streamline our service to our clients- you can be a part of its success!

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

Strategic planning and growth:

  • Implement the strategic direction of our EIA team across Germany for the forthcoming market growth
  • Support the strategic thinking around expansion into wider local and global sectors

Team leadership and growth:

  • Grow, manage and lead the EIA team in readiness for the pipeline and support strategic leadership of the wider EIA team
  • Upskill staff with transferrable skills for different sectors
  • Network and collaborate with different business areas, service lines and countries

Delivering outstanding client facing solutions:

  • Project Director or Strategic Advisor for a portfolio of EIA projects comprising direction to the EIA team, accountability for all deliverables, providing EIA and wider strategic advice and troubleshooting to the project, senior client and stakeholder representative

Client account development:

  • Build the pipeline of EIA work by developing existing contacts and building new industry contacts
  • Key client relationship manager for selected key client accounts, with a view of ensuring good performance and expanding our opportunities
  • Lead on our EIA bidding activity and bid sponsor on select wider strategic bids
  • Maintain and strengthen connections across Ramboll to access opportunities and support development through the key sectors and key accounts internally

External facing/industry profile:

  • Promote the Ramboll brand to the German market and increase our industry profile across the service offering, including through representation at conferences, production of news and technical articles, social media presence etc.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • A technical leader in EIA with experience of providing technical direction at a project level. Experience in due diligence work would be useful
  • An accomplished staff manager, particularly leading multi-disciplinary teams as project manager
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, clients, suppliers and industry
  • Willingness to travel, including possible international trave
