JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an exciting and great opportunity to join the Energy Infrastructure Planning Delivery (EIPD) team as a leader of one of our planning teams. Our role advises Ministers on applications for development consent for new major energy infrastructure. Our team is at the heart of delivering energy security, price stability and Net Zero carbon objectives. This work is a priority area for the Secretary of State and critical to both the Clean Energy Mission and the Growth Mission.
We work closely with environmental specialists and lawyers to provide Ministers with the advice they need to make informed decisions on planning applications for proposed nationally significant energy infrastructure developments.
As a Head of Planning, you will provide support to a critical and sometimes contentious function, which enables nationally significant energy infrastructure projects to proceed. You will lead a team of planning casework managers, ensuring our casework is completed to statutory deadlines. You will also offer advice on how to resolve any casework issues, review decision documentation and have a leadership role supporting our Deputy Director and Grade 6 Heads of EIPD.
