KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum graduate-level degree; higher qualifications (e.g., MBA or Logistics) are highly desirable.
  • Significant experience in multi-site and multi-national manufacturing supply chains or advanced 3PL operations.
  • Proven track record in managing engineering teams with exemplary people and change management skills.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical) is preferred.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with a commercially savvy approach to sourcing and negotiations.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with automated warehouses or manufacturing environments.
  • Change management and resilience skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  1. Leadership in Technical Performance: Oversee the technical and asset performance across the AH UK network, to include; ensuring effective delivery of equipment performance in major infrastructure projects, management of the National FM team, capital project execution, and empowerment of service centre engineering teams.
  2. Team Development: Lead the Birmingham CLC engineering team, fostering strong relationships with third-party engineering teams to deliver asset performance and development plans while creating a strategic three-year masterplan for operations.
  3. Relationship Management: Build and sustain key internal relationships to drive effectiveness, productivity, and automation performance. Collaborate with procurement to manage vendor relationships and engage with Alliance Healthcare Division and Cencora for strategic alignment.
  4. Engineering Masterplan: Develop and deliver the engineering/technical masterplan for UK operations, focusing on automation, equipment standards, and the capability to fulfil significant CAPEX projects on time and within budget.
  5. Team Empowerment: Oversee the engineering team across all Alliance Healthcare UK service centres. Ensure the right level of technical mastery and competency among team members, including local engineers and capital project teams.
  6. Automation Optimisation: Manage and optimise current automation systems to assure high asset performance through autonomous and predictive maintenance strategies, while driving cost efficiencies through continuous process improvements.
  7. KPI Ownership: Take responsibility for automation engineering KPIs to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
