Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. Working at our sites in Benalla and Mulwala - Pangerang and Yorta Yorta land, your role purpose is to -

  • Accountable for all engineering activities across Munitions, Energetics, and Chemicals Product Lines in bids, projects, and products, ensuring delivery outcomes align with business strategy and product roadmaps
  • Oversee product timelines, budgets and resources to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality outcomes
  • Provide strategic team leadership, setting clear goals, empower team members and cultivating a culture of accountability and innovation
  • Spearhead critical projects and oversee their industrialisation, ensuring seamless transition from design to full-scale production
  • Collaborate with operations, design and supply chain teams and others to align project goals with business and operational goals
  • Mitigate risk, resolve production bottlenecks, and ensure compliance from a safety and regulatory standards
  • Implement and optimise lean manufacturing and agile project management practice to enhance efficiency and team performance

On day one in this role, we’ll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

  • Must have Explosive Ordnance engineering lifecycle knowledge and experience underpinned by relevant tertiary qualification
  • Must have experience leading engineering teams to deliver complex projects
  • Proven success in delivering large-scale manufacturing or production projects
  • Experience influencing and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve outcomes whilst develop strong working relationships
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree and / or equivalent, and / or demonstrated engineering competencies required to attain CPEng
  • Eligible for Australian State engineering registration and the National Engineering Register as required
