WHO ARE HEIDI

Heidi is on a mission to half the time it takes to deliver world class care.
We believe that in 2050 every clinician will practice with AI systems that free them from administrative burden and increase the quality and accessibility of care to patients across the world. Today, we have a suite of tools that modernize documentation. Tomorrow, we’ll equip every healthcare org with AI assistants that undo the tediums of clinical & non clinical work.
Our team is a potent mosaic of sage, accomplished leaders & brilliant polymaths hungry to prove it. We achieve in 6 months what it takes our competitors 4 years to do. We’ve recently raised our $10M USD from a market leading investor in the US, with an ambitious product roadmap and global go-to-market strategy starting with the US & UK.
To help us scale globally and achieve our mission, we are seeking a Head of Engineering reporting to our Founder/CTO to drive a hardcore culture of engineering excellence and execute against our product roadmap.

You will help us serve hundreds of thousands and millions of users across 10s of teams and 100s of engineers and be responsible for building products that clinicians can’t live without.
This role is perfect for an exceptional leader who enjoys still being in the detail day to day of development and has a deep curiosity for solving complex technical problems, and a track record of successfully scaling engineering teams in high growth, slightly chaotic environments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work with CEO & CTO to execute on the technical strategy and roadmap, aligning the engineering function and ways of working
  • Scale and lead a fast-growing team of 30+ engineers, cultivating a high-performing team, shipping quality code fast, setting a high bar for talent.
  • Mentoring engineering leaders, structure the teams to create high quality and efficient code including defining ways of working e.g. squads, empowering ownership in the team
  • Oversee the design and architecture of systems that are highly available, scalable, and performant, capable of handling mass global user adoption.
  • Drive engineering initiatives to enhance system security, API performance, and cloud infrastructure reliability.
  • Ensure system designs adhere to best practices in scalability, reliability, and data privacy.
  • Champion best practices in software development, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and robust code quality standards.
  • Optimize engineering workflows to support rapid development without compromising quality.
  • Manage budgets, resourcing, and vendor relationships to ensure the engineering team operates
  • Partner with product, design, and medical knowledge teams to turn high-level concepts into world-class solutions that deliver value to clinicians.
  • Translate technical complexities into actionable business solutions, bridging the gap between engineering and product aligning to business goals.
